Cisco Medianet - The Value of Network Architecture to Enhance Organization-Wide Telepresence and Collaboration (Aamer Akhter, Cisco Systems, Inc.)
As video becomes pervasive in an organization and more video devices are used, new demands are placed on the network. It can be challenging to accommodate video needs while reducing complexity, planning for capacity, and providing the best possible user experience. These new demands require that traditional IP networks now need to evolve to “medianets” to accommodate these changes, by creating an end-to-end IP architecture that helps to enable pervasive media experiences. The Cisco Medianet architecture has been developed to make all your integrated network, endpoints and services smarter and more valuable while fully incorporating the additional value of shared media services, cloud services. Cisco Medianet reduces the the total cost of ownership and scales video through features such as auto-configuration and media monitoring. At the same time, it helps to ensure a quality user experience while optimizing bandwidth use and efficiency. Starting with Medianet, businesses can now take a fully comprehensive, architectural approach to their video strategy that will allow them to do more with less cost than ever before.
This session will discuss and train participants on the value and cost savings of an architectural approach to your video strategy with a medianet, including: Faster Troubleshooting; Easier Deployment; Improved Network Visibility; Predictable Quality of Experience; Optimized User Experience; Device Flexibility; Alignment of Resources with Business Priorities; Optimized Delivery and Performance Routing.

The “People" and "Process” Parts of Enterprise Video – How Will Your Deployment be Implemented, Managed, and Used with Andy Howard (Howard & Associates)
In any Enterprise Video deployment, technology plays an important role, but is only one piece of the puzzle. Video is a distinctive data type that is extremely impactful, but also requires behavioral changes throughout the organization. Therefore, successful deployments require a combination of planning around People, Process, and Technology.

- Process - how will customers integrate the technology into their daily activities and current communications tools
- Technology – what technology should be deployed to meet the requirements
This session will focus on helping users understand the issues and create a plan around People and Process. If time permits, a discussion regarding “Streaming Media in the Cloud – Considerations for Deployment” will be held.

Telepresence Values: The REAL Meaning of Telepresence/ Planning the Right Environment with Theo Economides (GreenLine Emeritus Consulting) & John Vitale (AVI-SPL)
It used to be that “telepresence” meant only one thing – a huge, expensive, and amazing videoconference system. Video has Arrived: Say Goodbye to Fragmentation and Hello to Interoperability with Adam Kaiser (IVCi, LLC) & Alagu Periyannan (Blue Jeans Network)
With the increase in remote workers and multi-location offices, video is a great solution for connecting employees with each other face-to-face… but video conferencing has yet to become the norm over audio conferencing. Why? Until now, the video conferencing space has been fragmented. Historically, there hasn’t been a service that allows people using consumer video chat solutions to meet over video with those using enterprise video conferencing systems. Alagu Periyannan, Co-founder and CTO, of Blue Jeans Network, will discuss why interoperability in the video space has been difficult to achieve- until now- and why it’s the key for video conferencing adaptation success. Adam Kaiser, Director of Marketing for IVCi, a Blue Jeans Network Channel Partner, will then discuss how interoperability is opening up new case studies for customers on a global scale.
The UC Dilemma = Unified Collaboration Tools vs. Unified Consumer Solutions with Bob Bach (BT Conferencing)
What does UC mean to the IT community and how does it compare what the user community thinks it means? The consumerization of collaboration technologies is for real and it is causing conflict between existing corporate communications structure and the consumerist mindset. The gap between what is and what is desired appears to be widening and is exacerbated by each successive generation of new graduates entering the workforce. Some organizations are struggling to adopt new and flexible solutions because of the current economy while facing more pressure to support the remote and agile workforces in spite of it. How are enterprises responding to demand for personal and mobile Audio, Video, and Web solutions? What are users demanding? Where can we can alignment? Join this session to interactively explore demand requirements, challenges, and solutions to one of the greatest challenges of present day collaboration.
